Chinese New Year

Energy of the year
There are very specific energies of 2011, the year of the Yin Metal Rabbit. The short version of what is Chinese New Year is that it is the second new moon after the winter solstice.

The up side is this year’s energy will feel quiet and calm, to our great relief after the turbulent year of the Tiger. All of us can use a year of taking it easy and enjoying a slower pace.  For some of us the first few months will be time for recovery and regrouping after meeting all the challenges of the previous year.

This year we will see stronger international relationships with more diplomacy and decorum. The flow will be smooth and low in energy and money will flow in without too much effort. Our life style can be relaxed and leisurely if we allow ourselves the luxuries we have put off getting. If we allow it in, it will be possible for us to be carefree and happy without too much effort or too many annoyances.

This is the year to take very good care of ourselves. The slower energy will allow us to use this year to gather energy for the following busy and strong years to come. We can take on the traits of the rabbit. They are accepting, loving, calm, and nurturing.

When life gets erratic, we can calm our selves by saying “I am the Rabbit” LOL

This is the year for persuasion rather than force. The complacent energy this year is ideal for refinement, developing good habits and applying good taste. The rabbit acts with discretion and make reasonable concessions without compromising.

The influence of the Rabbit may affect those of us who like comfort so we will want to be aware of good balance and purpose.  It will be important this year to keep our focus on completing projects and guard against becoming too complacent and resistance to change.

The down side is the energy may seem too calm for some of us, particularly to the Tiger, Dragon and the horse energy.  Rules and regulations may be lax and may not be rigidly enforced so we will want to regulate ourselves and stay with-in our integrity zone. It is important to stay relaxed and stress free if others are inclined to be lax at work or home. We may want to put off disagreeable tasks as long as possible. It will be important to set and keep our affairs in order to prevent difficulties in the next year.

Your sign in the year of the rabbit

Do you know what your Chinese astrological sign is? Look on Year signs attachment: The Chinese Zodiac.

Here is an over view of each sign as published in a Chinese almanac.

For the Rabbit, the best strategy is to be flexible. You will want to venture out of your comfort zone and take calculated risks. Rabbits have difficulty totally relaxing so it will be important to get enough sleep, exercise and good nutrition. Career and money aspects will be at their best during summer and fall. September should present many opportunities.
For the Dragon, this will be a good year. You will have expansion and healing in the family area. In your career, you will be presented with great opportunities and your ideas and initiatives will get more traction. Watch your expenses so they balance with income. You may have a tendency to over work this year, so remember to lower your stress with meditation or Yoga.
For the Snake, this will be a favorable time to put yourself in new environments and social circles. You should be well received but you need to make the first move. Career and money luck will be changeable so you will want to stay alert for the few opportunities coming your way. It is important for you to maintain good mental and physical health.
For the Horse, Career and Money prospects are the most promising. Expanding your business or getting a promotion will be easy. You will see unexpected gains and benefactors. Avoid extra work, and for your mental health you may want to take up a new hobby.
For the Ram, business affairs should speed along. Months 6,9,12 are the best months to discuss new plans or launch a new project. Finish one project before starting a new one. No major health issues for the ram this year. Money luck will be average.
For the Monkey, your luck will be inconsistent. Your luck will improve by late July. Avoid over work and over stress. Be cautious of digestive issues. Keep all moves simple and straight forward. Romance for the single monkey will be uneventful.
For the Rooster, this will be an up and down year. Avoid sticking your neck out or taking risks with your money. With hard work: a raise or a promotion will come your way. With your health, you would be wise to avoid being around sick people. Relationships with spouse or partner may run hot and cold.
For the Dog, you will have a smooth year of the rabbit. You will have good results with a career switch. Hard work will bring substantial rewards with career and money. This will be the year for opportunities beyond your wildest dreams. Take preventive measures against chronic illness caused by stress.
For the Pig, the rabbit year will not be easy for the Pig. 2011 will hold a dramatic change in your career. Have hope that the change will ultimately be in your best interest.  Do your best in all situations and you will receive next year. This will not be the best year to tie to get married.
For the Rat, You will have good prospects in your career and in finance. The energy is smooth and steady so it will not be good to push ahead too boldly. Wealth opportunities will come in, take advantage of them, using caution with expenditures. Be sure not to over tax yourself into exhaustion.
For the Ox, It is important for you to maintain rather than risk changes this year. Risky investments and business deals should not be taken at face value. You may grow moody with the sameness and the year may drag on. Your wealth resources may fluctuate so avoid   lending money to friends or family.
For the Tiger, This is not the year for big leaps. Think twice before acting. Tolerance is the key word. Focus on cooperative endeavors and cultivate friends carefully. Be humble at all times without giving too much to a relationship. Your health is challenged this year so take care and avoid being in contact with sick people.

Letting go of last year
Activity - On piece of paper- list one thing each you are done with from last year. Take as many slips of paper that you want.

Intentionally let go of those things past last year. Take the slips of paper outside, with a glass or metal bowl, or pie pan and burn each prayerfully, releasing the energy of what you are done with.

We are going make 2011 Intentions

Start with printing out the attachment: Questions Answer Box (The Feng Shui Treasure map to our best life)

Now is the creative part, make 2011 Intentions for each area of the Bagua. This way you will have specific goals and intentions you want to see come true.
Write one goal or intention in each boxed area. Below is an overview of what each area of the map represents. (In Feng Shui, the energy of our homes/offices flow in a clockwise manner. Adjusting the energy of each room, with color, elements will raise or lower the energy in each area. This has been scientifically proven over and over again in the last 4,000 years.
