Massage and Acupuncture for Headaches

Headaches:

Most headaches are stress related, as evidence by the fact that they come and go.Stress irritates the nervous system, resulting in tension in the muscles of the back of the neck and shoulders. The blood to the brain can be reduced, causing a lack of oxygen to the brain.
Massage and Acupuncture corrects the problem by relieving the pressure on the nerves, which then gets rid of the headaches. Medications such as aspirin only masks the pain instead of handling the actual cause of it.

Chinese New Year

Energy of the year
There are very specific energies of 2011, the year of the Yin Metal Rabbit. The short version of what is Chinese New Year is that it is the second new moon after the winter solstice.

The up side is this year’s energy will feel quiet and calm, to our great relief after the turbulent year of the Tiger. All of us can use a year of taking it easy and enjoying a slower pace.  For some of us the first few months will be time for recovery and regrouping after meeting all the challenges of the previous year.

Post surgery massage and acupuncture.

I encounter many clients who are post-surgery and who have never received any instruction by their general physicians or surgeons to seek massage therapy and acupuncture as an integral and necessary part of their post-surgery treatment. I don't know whether this information is not made available at universities or whether the consequences of neglecting to inform patients is not fully appreciated.

The result is that the post-surgery population is suffering needlessly in pain for months and years because of muscle adhesions, guarding muscles and scar tissues and its resulting consequences of reduced range of motion.

The Year of the Rabbit

The Year of the Rabbit:
This year’s energy will be a placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger.
Some of us should go off to some quiet spot to lick our wounds and get some rest after all the battles of the previous year. This year will be a congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will be able to act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty.
Good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force.
